This piece was a style experiment exploring a new shading style and The Rusty Nib brush set. I played with layer styles and opacity, placing a neutral-tone shaded layer over color flats. I post-processed with the aim of color correction and warmth. I wanted to capture the dynamic of the titular characters. Layton and Deu are original characters I share with my co-writer and partner, Alister Rynd. They are the protagonists of a webcomic under the working title I Think We're Alone Now.
